Across the Southwest, Barrios from New Mexico to California are standing up for their right to freedom of expression and dismantling systems that were intended to oppress and marginalize communities of color. In the Lowrider community, those systemic barriers are the relics of the cruising bans from the 90’s. With lack of enforcement and ever present “No Cruising” signs littering our communities, this is the time to repeal discriminatory cruising bans. There is no place in today’s society where a group needs to be criminalized for cultural expression. Lowriding grew out of a counter culture that was eager to define itself in a way that is unique and full of tradition.

To that we say, Let’s Cruise!

Let’s Cruise!
